Founded by brothers, Millen and Arjun Schuchert, M&A Rock Academy welcomes all skill levels in the greater Pittsburgh area. Whether you are a beginner never having picked up an instrument to a master at your craft, our mission is to help you achieve your musical goals first and foremost.

30 minutes: guitar, voice, piano, drums, songwriting, music theory (from our studio)
60 minutes: rock or pop full band lessons (we have sibling bands we teach), guitar, voice, piano, drums - from your home or our studio
90 minutes: rock or pop full band lessons lessons, guitar, voice, piano, drums - from your home or our studio
Seasonal showcases at Jergels Rhythm Grille, Mr. Smalls Funhouse, and Hard Rock Cafe.
WHAT WE OFFER
Choose from guitar, voice, bass, piano, songwriting, music theory, and drum lessons (or multiple!). Both 1 on 1 lessons as well as group lessons with sibling or friend bands. All of our rates are the same and solely based on time. Our lessons are geared toward providing students with live music opportunities in Pittsburgh.

Meet Millen (25): A guitarist, singer, and pianist, Millen graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2022 and has a passion for teaching. Millen grew up with influences of Green Day, Radiohead, U2, Coldplay, among other rock groups, and is also the lead songwriter for the rock band, "Griffen Handshake". A guitarist since fifth grade, Millen has a wide knowledge of what has worked and what hasn't worked learning guitar throughout his experience. He has developed a unique framework based on each skill level that can help guitarists get to the next level with their playing. Millen also has performed in nine musical theater productions and offers both rock and theater vocal lessons. He has been trained by two opera teachers, Angela Gilbert and Brent Stater, as well as professional vocalist, Grace Byrnes. He has also been trained in music theory by pianist and professor, Brian Buckley. When it comes to piano, Millen is self taught and specializes in teaching students who are beginner to intermediate level. ​​Meet Arjun (22): A skilled drummer with training in jazz and rock, Arjun offers students a comprehensive understanding of rhythm and groove. Arjun is proficient in sheet music and can teach his students this way or by ear. His engaging teaching style makes learning fun and accessible for all levels. Arjun is influenced by Rush, Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, Twenty One Pilots, and big band Jazz. A true master at his craft, Arjun specializes in drum fills and has a broken down approach for students to master complex rhythms they may encounter. He is also a vocal harmony extraordinaire.
